SFUAA Endorsements
Keeping in line with our mission to promote the growing of food within San Francisco through collaboration with outside organizations, SFUAA has endorsed the following materials.
SFUAA Endorses Proposition 37
We Have a Right to Know What's in Our Food: Proposition 37 will be a huge step toward the transparency we deserve. This is about our right to know what's in our food and the right to choose for ourselves what we eat and feed our families. These are fundamental American values. Join us in helping us win back our right to know about the genetic engineering of our food system. Vote Yes on 37 in November.
SFUAA Endorses Food & Water Watch's "Global Frackdown"
Oil and Gas companies have started fracking in the San Francisco Bay Delta and near the Sacramento River, which flows directly into the Bay. In late September the State will propose regulations to allow fracking to continue. Fracking poses a direct and immediate threat to our foodshed, our drinking water, air, health and the safe living conditions of our communities.
September 22nd is the world's first International Day of Action/Global Frackdown! organized by Food & Water Watch and its allies. For the first time in history there will be coordinated events around the world to ban fracking, including right here in San Francisco!
In San Francisco Food & Water Watch is holding a "Don't Frack the Bay"! action on September 22nd. Meet up with hundreds of concerned San Francisco residents and activists for breakfast and speakers at the Warming Hut at 10:00am on Saturday, September 22nd, for a big kickoff and educational event to dispel the fairtytale myth: THERE IS NO SAFE FRACKING! Together we will send a strong and emphatic message to Governor Brown and the California legislators --- to BAN FRACKING NOW!

SFUAA is pleased to announce its endorsement of Just One Tree. Just One Tree is a project of Urban Resource Systems, a nonprofit organization established in San Francisco in 1981 to promote the concept of greater urban self-reliance in cities worldwide.
The Just One Tree project encourages San Franciscans to plant one fruit tree to demonstrate that even the second densest city in the United States can move toward greater local food self-sufficiency.
